California Jury Awards Couple More Than $2 Billion in Roundup Lawsuit A California jury delivered another strong rebuke to the manufacturer of Roundup weed killer when it awarded a couple $2 billion for punitive damages sustained after using the weed killer for years. The jury also awarded the couple $55 million in compensatory damages. This lawsuit was the third jury verdict against the manufacturer of Roundup, Monsanto. Bayer AG recently purchased Monsanto. BREAKING NEWS: Jury Awards Plaintiff $289.2 Million in Roundup Lawsuit

According to numerous news outlets, including CNN and USA Today, a jury in San Francisco awarded a man $289 million in his Roundup lawsuit.  This lawsuit is the first case to go before a jury out of the hundreds of cases filed against Monsanto, the maker of the agricultural weed killer. Punishing Monsanto for Wrongdoing Dwayne Johnson, a 46-year old former school groundskeeper, has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. His condition is terminal. Intersection Crash Kills Elderly Man

Two drivers collided in an intersection outside Louisville, and only one of them survived the vehicle crash. Witnesses and authorities state that the wreck occurred at Highway 146 and Spring House Pike in LaGrange. The 75 year-old was eastbound on 146 and collided with a driver of a Dodge Ram pickup; the driver's name was not released. While the Ram driver was treated at the scene and released, the 75 year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he died shortly after arrival. Eric Conn Goes On The Lam

About a month before he was to be sentenced for Social Security disability fraud, former attorney Eric Conn disappeared, and his lawyer says that the FBI is "ramping up" its efforts to bring him in. The FBI has few clues, other than a discarded ankle monitor on Interstate 75 and a few items seized from searches of residents and businesses connected with Mr. Conn. Special Agent Amy Hess said the agency was expanding its probe, and investigators are "pursuing all angles as to who might be helping him currently." Car Crash Kills Boyle County Teen

A 16 year old was a passenger in a single-car accident just east of Danville; and the unnamed victim, who was partially ejected from the vehicle, died at the scene.

The unnamed victim, and three other juveniles whose names were not released, were in a 2003 Chevrolet Impala when the teenage driver apparently lost control of the car. The vehicle slid off the road and slammed into a concrete bridge. According to investigators, the driver did not have a license and none of the occupants were wearing seatbelts. Investigators also believe that the driver may have been alcohol impaired, but no arrests were made.
