Intersection Crash Kills Elderly Man

Two drivers collided in an intersection outside Louisville, and only one of them survived the vehicle crash. Witnesses and authorities state that the wreck occurred at Highway 146 and Spring House Pike in LaGrange. The 75 year-old was eastbound on 146 and collided with a driver of a Dodge Ram pickup; the driver's name was not released. While the Ram driver was treated at the scene and released, the 75 year-old was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition, where he died shortly after arrival. Serious Car Wreck Kills One, Injures Two

An errant bicyclist triggered a two-car automobile collision that caused serious injuries to at least three people. Although all the victims were from Kentucky, the wreck occurred in Bloomington, Indiana. Witnesses and police state that a bicyclist, whose name was not release, fell over while trying to cross State Road 37. Head-On Wreck Kills Three

One other person was seriously injured after a semi-truck drifted across the grassy median and caused a car accident.

Witnesses and authorities state that an eastbound tractor trailer crossed the median on the Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County just outside Bardstown. The 71-year-old driver, 72-year-old male passenger, and 3-year-old passenger, all of whom were from Harrodsburg, were killed almost instantly. A fourth person in the car, 5-year-old passenger, was seriously injured and airlifted to a nearby hospital. The car accident had a tremendous impact on people in the small town of Harrodsburg. The vehicle was apparently on the way to Bowling Green to view a flower garden.

Complex Injury Car Crash In Nelson County

A serious car wreck in Nelsonville drew first responders from two counties to the scene of a two-vehicle collision.

The wreck happened near the intersection of the Bluegrass Parkway and Nelsonville Road, right around a sharp curve in the road. The vehicle owner from Campbellsville, told investigators that she allowed her friend to drive her Chevrolet Impala; and that the Impala’s tires were bald and she had earlier hydroplaned over a wet spot on the road. As the Impala rounded the curve, it slid over some liquid on the road’s surface, which police believe may have been fuel or oil. The Impala driver lost control and smashed into the passenger side door of a Honda Accord that was traveling in the opposite direction. Two people were transported to nearby hospitals with serious car wreck injuries.

One Killed And Three Hurt In Freeway Crash

A pickup truck failed to slow down for stacked-up rush hour traffic and slammed into a passenger car, causing an auto accident that killed one person and seriously injured three others.

Major traffic slowdowns are not really an everyday occurrence in many parts of Jeffersontown and Louisville, and that is probably one reason a pickup truck driver did not slow down on Interstate 64 between Hurstbourne and Blankenbaker as traffic piled up in front of him. The pickup truck rear-ended a passenger car at what Police Chief Ken Hatmaker called a high rate of speed, trapping all four occupants inside. One person, who was apparently not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene, and the other three were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The tortfeasor (negligent driver) will probably not face any charges stemming from this auto accident, and none of the names were released.

Distracted Driving Crash Seriously Injures Two

Although a woman insisted that she only “momentarily” looked at her cell phone, that was enough time for her car to drift over the center line and cause a vehicle wreck.

The crash happened in Graves County, near the intersection of State Route 464 and Willie Trail. According to sheriff’s deputies, the 22 year-old driver, used her cell phone as she was eastbound on 464. While she was distracted, her vehicle crossed over to the westbound side, where it collided with the 56-year-old other driver. Both parties were airlifted to an Evansville hospital with serious injuries.

Doctors expect both vehicle wreck victims to survive.

Deadly Rear-End Crash Raises Liability Questions

One person is dead after a commercial truck swerved into another lane of traffic and caused a traffic collision.

According to witnesses and authorities, a 2010 International Box Truck was southbound on Interstate 75 between Houston and Turfway roads in Boone County when the truck experienced mechanical issues. The driver suddenly swerved over to the right, crossing directly into the path of an oncoming work truck. The driver of the second vehicle — 50-year-old victim from Union — was declared dead at the scene.

Police do not expect to file charges.

Distracted Driving Crash Seriously Hurts Two

A distracted driver swerved into oncoming traffic to avoid a stopped car, seriously injuring two people.

According to witnesses and police, the 45-year-old driver of Calvert City, was eastbound on U.S. Highway 68 did not see a car stopped behind another vehicle waiting to turn left onto Fieldmont Drive. To avert a rear-end collision, he pulled onto the westbound side. As a result, he collided into a 56-year-old driver, of Benton. Both drivers were rushed to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, and both their vehicles were almost totally demolished.

The wreck happened in McCracken County.

Fatal Tractor Trailer Accident In Lawrence County

A woman died after a large truck went through a stoplight in Louisa, causing a serious vehicle crash.

A second person was seriously injured in a collision that occurred at the intersection of Highway 3 and U.S. Highway 23 in Louisa. According to witnesses and first responders, a tractor trailer driver, whose name was not relesed, went through a red light while northbound on U.S. 23 and crashed into a Buick Lesabre. The force of the vehicle crash propelled the car into a utility pole. First responders had to use the Jaws of Life to cut the victims out of the car. Two victims were both rushed to nearby hospitals with multiple serious injuries; and one was subsequently pronounced dead.

The tractor trailer driver was cited for disregarding a traffic control device.
